Teeth Whitening
East Wenatchee, WA

Teeth Whitening in East Wenatchee, Washington with Johnson Family DentalOne of the most common cosmetic dental procedures, whitening your teeth, is a simple process that has a huge impact on your smile. Using non-invasive techniques, we can enhance the look of your teeth, brightening your tooth enamel. At Johnson Family Dental, our team, including Dr. Johnson, can upgrade your smile and give your look a more bright and youthful appearance.

Having whiter, brighter teeth has quickly become the number one aesthetic concern for many of our patients. Our team is happy to advise you with tips, ideas, opinions and solutions on several ways to whiten your teeth. Besides whitening your enamel, we can also discuss replacing old fillings, old crowns and any other form of restoration to help you achieve a fresher looking mouth. Replacement of any previous restorations should be done after whitening so that we can match the new restorations to your newly bleached teeth.

It should be noted that teeth whitening is not permanent. We recommend touch-ups approximately every year, depending on your food and drink habits, patients who smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine may find that they need whitening more frequently.

There are three basic whitening techniques:
•  Whitening at home with store bought kit: Using an over the counter product, you can whiten your teeth at home. Store bought kits generally contain 3% peroxide, this will give you limited whitening and may take more time.
•  Whitening at home with a kit prescribed by Dr. Johnson: Under the direction of Dr. Johnson, we can design a kit for you. At-home whitening kits prescribed by Dr. Johnson contains anywhere from 3% to 20% peroxide, based on your need. This process can take multiple days of wearing trays in your mouth at your discretion.

Whatever whitening option you choose, we recommend talking with Dr. Johnson about it. He can help you consider any factors that you may be unaware of and make suggestions as needed.

Common Reasons for Whitening Teeth

Our patients come to us to discuss teeth whitening for a variety of reasons. Just like everyone has different skin and hair color, we also have varying color to our tooth enamel. Some patients find that they just have teeth that are more yellow than others, while others yellow with aging. Whatever the problem, we can help. Some of the most common reasons for whitening include:
•  Whitening teeth from normal daily use.
•  Whitening teeth that have been stained from medications.
•  To help even out the color of teeth that have been affected by Fluorosis.
•  Whitening your teeth to boost your confidence, or to give you a cleaner, healthier-looking mouth.

We are happy to discuss the tooth whitening options with you. For more information, contact Kevin Johnson, DMD at our East Wenatchee, WA 98802 office. (509) 886-8833
